Who we are
Situ runs the Situ app and service and is responsible for the personal data described here. These rules follow Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and, where it applies, the EU's GDPR.
What we collect
Your name, email, phone and language; your family's details and the care plan, including the ages, allergies, medication and health notes of children or older adults that you choose to enter; booking, payment and receipt records (card details stay with the payment provider); messages, journal updates and photos from care; and your location when you use location features in the app.
Children and older adults
We collect information about children and older adults only from their family, and only what the care needs. Caregivers see it only for the bookings they are assigned to.
How we use it
To find and confirm caregivers, run and follow bookings safely, translate chat between languages, process payments, send notifications, prevent fraud and meet legal duties. We don't sell personal data and we don't use it for advertising.
How we improve booking
When you book, the app tells us which steps of the booking you reached (opening it, when and where, who, the price, check and send) and on which day, never what you typed. Only Situ's administrators see it, to find where booking is hard and fix it. It is never used for advertising, and it is deleted with your account.
Location
Families: the app uses your location only when you choose to, for example to set where care happens; you are never tracked in the background. Caregivers: their location is shared while they are available, on the way and during care, so the family and the Situ team can follow the journey.
Live view
During care the Situ team may look in through the caregiver's phone camera and microphone. Nothing is recorded, and the family's journal notes when it happened.
Translation
Chat and journal text can be translated automatically. The text is sent to Google Translate or to a language model through OpenRouter, under terms that neither keep it nor train on it.
How long we keep it
Chat messages, care photos and location from a booking are deleted 72 hours after it ends, unless an incident requires keeping them until it is resolved. Booking, payment and tax records are kept as long as the law requires. You can delete your account in the app.
The waitlist on our site
If you join the waitlist on situ-takecare.com, we keep your name, email, where and when you travel (for a hotel: its name and phone), the page's language, and what brought you to the page (the campaign words in the link and the site you came from; no cookies and no outside trackers). We use them to send one confirmation, the link to the app the day it is in the stores, and Situ's news only if you ticked that box. Every email has a link that deletes your details at once, and you can also write to us. Only Situ's administrators see the list; it is never sold or shared.
Who sees it
The caregiver assigned to your booking; the Situ team; and the providers that run Situ for us: hosting and database (Vercel, Neon), maps (Google), notifications (Apple, Google, Expo), text messages and calls (Twilio), email (Resend), translation (Google, OpenRouter) and the payment provider. Each sees only what its job needs.
Data outside Thailand
Our servers are in the European Union, and some providers process data in other countries. We work with providers bound by data-protection terms.
Security
Data travels encrypted. Identity documents and bank details are stored encrypted, and access is limited to the people who need it and logged.
Your rights
You can see, correct, export or delete your data, withdraw consent and object to some uses, subject to legal record-keeping. Ask from Help in the app; you can also complain to the data-protection authority.
Contact
Email the Situ team at situphuket@gmail.com, or use Help in the app.
